Ireland: Moyry Castle

We didn’t get to see too many castles in Ireland, but one of the few we did get to see was right in Jonesborough. It was about a 5 minute drive from Stephens home. It was built by the british on top of a small hill to subdue irish from taking the moyry pass. It was really tiny, and more of a fort than a castle. But I’d say it most definitely counts. It was cool inside, because you could make out where the fireplace went, where the archers guarded the walls. I was satisfied. It wouldn’t be the last castle we’d see. but it was the only one that we were allowed in without being charged outrageous fees.
